Retailers report higher October sales

Same-store sales rose an average of 2.7 percent in October at 18 national retailers tracked by Thomson Reuters, results that largely exclude the effects of the hurricane and bode well for the coming holiday season, analysts say. Sales were up across the price spectrum, with several chains including Macy’s, Nordstrom and Kohl’s beating estimates. Read the Los Angeles Times story here.
