Office building in Pittsburgh gets OK’d for hotel conversion

Plans to convert the James Reed Building in Pittsburgh into a 249-room hotel have been approved by the city planning commission. The hotel is expected to open next year under Kimpton Hotels & Resorts' Hotel Monaco brand, featuring a rooftop hospitality suite, a restaurant, a fitness center and ballroom space.
