Hotel rates, occupancy up in Las Vegas

Hotel development is growing in Las Vegas, signaling that the economy is slowly recovering. The 2012 average daily room rate was up 2.8 percent over 2011, and occupancy is also on the rise. Several properties are in development, the Las Vegas Global Business District is on the way, new attractions have been built and McCarran International Airport has a new terminal.
