The Pad, a boutique hotel and hostel in Silverthorne, is set to open this spring. According to a news release, owners Rob and Lynne Baer will open The Pad with 36 rooms and 101 beds. Read the Summit Daily News story here

The Macy's building at Lynchburg, Virginia's West End of River Ridge will be demolished and the property redeveloped into an open-air shopping center and food court on behalf of Liberty University, which owns the mall. A company with ties to Amazon filed plans with a Louisiana planning commission to demolish Baton Rogue's shuttered Cortana Mall and replace it with a warehouse and office. Plans were initially stalled by negotiations with the mall's different property owners. Read The Advocate story here
