The economic development agency for Memphis, Tenn., has approved an additional $1.5 million for the Southbrook Mall redevelopment project. The $7.5 million project involves replacing the roof, redesigning the space into a town center and using the existing movie theater as a community center. Read The Commercial Appeal story here

The Florida Agency for Health Care Administration approved the construction of two hospitals only a few miles apart in Venice, Fla. The Sarasota County facilities will cost an estimated $212 million and $225 million to build, and construction could begin this year. Read The Business Journals story here
The Connecticut Airport Authority is planning to build a new terminal, improve ground transportation and increase car rental space under a 20-year master plan at Bradley International Airport. The $1.4 billion plan is designed to accommodate increased passenger traffic. Read the WWLP-TV story here
