Holiday Inn awaits OK to replace old Redwood City, Calif., hotel

A small, aging hotel could make way for a much larger Holiday Inn with nearly five times as many rooms in downtown Redwood City if the city approves it later this year. A plan by Holiday Inn Express & Suites to demolish the existing Garden Motel at 1690 Broadway for a four-story full-service hotel is set to go before the Planning Commission in October for possible approval.
