Ground broken for Live! by Loews at Ballpark Village in St. Louis

Officials plunged ceremonial shovels into the dirt at the future site of Live! by Loews at Ballpark Village. The $65 million hotel, at the corner of Clark and 8th streets, is part of the $260-million, second phase of the development. Boise, Idaho, council OKs downtown Home2 Suites by Hilton

Hotel-conference center planned for Kearney, Neb.

Paul Younes intends to build another hotel and convention center. Plans include a five-story, 164-unit hotel and 100,000-square-foot conference center, to be built west of Younes’ Hampton Inn near Sixth Avenue and Talmadge Street in south Kearney.

Dupont Circle may be next D.C. microhotel site

Another microhotel may be in the works for Washington, D.C., where the trend already has reached Foggy Bottom and Chinatown. The proposed boutique property in Dupont Circle reportedly contains 52 rooms ranging from 140 square feet to 312 square feet, with a lobby, bar, cafe and fitness center. Vicksburg, Miss., Riverwalk sports makeover
